The bonus room the ductwork never reached
Every neighborhood around Tomball has the same room: the one over the garage, the converted garage itself, the sunroom, the addition built after the house was already ducted. The original system was sized for the original house. Tie a new room into a trunk line that was already working hard and you get a room that sits ten degrees off from the thermostat, and a Gulf summer makes the gap obvious by noon.
A ductless system fixes that without touching the attic. A Mini Split puts its own coil inside the room, on the wall, and runs a small line set to an outdoor unit. There is no duct run to leak, no long flex line pulling warm attic air into the supply, and the room gets its own control. That is why ductless AC and ductless heating are the usual answer for additions, garages, workshops and older homes with no space for a duct.
It also helps when the central system is fine but one space is not. Moving that load off the main unit often lets the main unit rest.
Reading the gauges instead of guessing at the charge

The job starts with where the indoor unit goes, because a wall cassette that blows straight at a sofa or sits behind a door will never feel right however good the equipment is. Then the outdoor unit gets a level pad, the line set is run and insulated, and the condensate line is pitched so it drains instead of backing up into your wall.

Our techs work off digital readings like these instead of rule-of-thumb charging, and the same habit applies on a Mini Split. The line set gets leak checked and evacuated before the system is released, and the numbers are read with the unit running.

Keeping a mini-split clean, drained and covered
Ductless units fail in boring ways. A filter loads up with dust, the coil behind it follows, and then the condensate pan has nowhere clean to drain. In Tomball's humidity that turns into a wall unit that drips on the floor or smells like a damp basement. A ductless maintenance and tune-up visit means cleaning the filters and coil, checking the drain, and reading the system's numbers while it runs.
